A new green file format: WWF

Paper is too valuable to waste! Around the world we use 1 million tonnes of paper every day. Too much of this paper usage is wasteful and unnecessary and puts huge pressures on the environment.
Paper usage in many parts of the word is on the rise. Expanding production and pulp wood harvesting threatens some of the last remaining natural forests and the people and wildlife that depend on them. The world´s paper hunger also significantly contributes to climate change. Easy actions can make a big difference for the environment.
The WWF format is a file format that cannot be printed. It is technically very similar to the PDF format, with the key exception that in WWF documents the print option is completely blocked. The WWF format was developed to stop documents being printed out unnecessarily. It is intended to help create a new awareness about the use of paper, and will give each individual a way of actively contributing to reducing their environmental impact. WWF documents can be opened with most programs that can open PDFs. The WWF software, and using the WWF format, are free for everyone. And the best thing is that using this format means that individuals, but especially organisations, will spend much less money on paper.
